Assam Floods: Padma Shri Doc Uses Makeshift Boats for Free Cancer Treatments in Silchar
At the flooded Cachar Cancer Hospital in Silchar, Padma Shri Dr Ravi Kannan is ensuring that the treatment of poor patients doesn’t stop. He visited patients at their homes and made alternative arrangements so that medication is not halted.
Kannan left his practice in Chennai and moved to Assam with his family in 2007 to provide basic healthcare facilities to the people of Barak Valley through Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Silchar.
