Hello everyone ,

It’s been more than 2 weeks since UPSC conducted preliminary exam on June 5th . A lot of serious as well as veteran candidates have been shocked with the kind of questions that UPSC is asking in prelims exam. Main reason for this is, ‘ lack of clearly defined syllabus for prelims ‘.

However, this is not the scenario wrt mains exam. UPSC has provided a clear list of syllabus . And based on the analysis of mains questions from 2013 till 2021 , we can say that UPSC strictly sticks to the syllabus .

In addition , as mentioned in its official notification , it appreciates simplicity in language , clarity of thought and expression and organized style of answer writing .

Hence , if a candidate prepares in the direction that UPSC expects us to , then their chances of success is very high .

In this regard, Insights IAS is happy to announce Intensive bridge course initiative for mains 2022 .

We had conducted same course in 2021 . A lot of candidates have benefitted from it in Mains 2022. Lot of students felt that similar questions that we discussed in the course were repeated in mains 2021 . (Honestly it is just a coincidence);

We genuinely  believe whoever  prepares based on mains syllabus and previous year questions and has the ability to respond to the demand of the question in the exam hall and handle their content smartly according to the need, has a high chance of success in mains exam.

In fact , UPSC itself has said that ,mains is not  merely a test of information or memory .

Aspirants usually assume that GS 2 is all about Polity. And hence they mostly limit themselves to Laxmikanth book even for Mains. Even though Indian Polity and Indian Constitution form a major part of GS 2 , it consists of Social Justice , Governance and International relations which are overlooked by many aspirants . In fact these Subjects are so well intertwined that students tend to neglect the approach to these subjects. In addition , there are no specific sources available for these topics in the market , which makes it even more challenging for the students to tackle. Hence , most of them end up writing general answers , thereby affecting their scores substantially.

Every year, most of the candidates who appear in the Mains exam end up scoring in the average window of 90s in GS2.

This can be attributed to multiple factors like lack of substantiation using articles, judgements or committee recommendations or lack of clarity in expression , absence of GS 2 specific language and keywords etc ..

You need to aim for 120s to be in the top in the final list according to current trends of competition. Infact , few of the candidates who attended our courses have scored above 120 in mains 2021 .

NOTE : This course is intended to help those appearing for mains this year , as well as those who have finished their basics / foundation course but have not prepared from mains specific perspective till now .
